Sellers are very motivated because:
single family homes listings are up and single family closings are down 42%. Attached units listings are down, and median prices are up. Attached closings are down 22% Two-Four units listings are up, and median prices are down. Two-Four units closings are down 70%.

Affordable Housing
Among other things, affordable housing seeks to provide housing for those who would be priced out of rapidly appreciating neighborhoods such as Bronzeville, and Near South. Many of our public servants, teachers, firemen, police officers, and city workers cannot afford to live in the communities they serve. Affordable housing resources are available through the City of Chicago, as well as neighborhood organizations.
Investors have some incentives for building under the affordable housing banner as well but the financing is layered and somewhat complicated.
